Tom Urchin cloth doll sewing pattern


This Jointed Cloth Doll is based on a historical Victorian design, featuring thread jointed limbs and embroidered facial features. The finished doll stands at 25cm (10in) tall and comes with full-sized pattern sheets, detailed tutorial-style instructions, and instructions to make all the clothing as pictured.  Includes Tea-dyeing tutorial to distress fabrics (optional).

Perfect to create your own unique heirloom doll.

Basic items for Tom

  • Fat 1/4 metre flesh coloured cotton
  • Wool for hair
  • 2 x 15mm buttons (optional used for leg jointing)
  • Choose various textured fabrics, scraps or purchased for his clothing.
  • 2 small buttons (no larger than 10cm)
  • 1 x old used (and clean) sock
  • Felt for boots
  • Narrow elastic for trousers
  • Embellishments, buttons, lace,etc
